Cordelia Ruth Whitfield

Biography

Schoolteacher, herbalist, mother of seven (five surviving to adulthood). Cordelia kept a household ledger from 1881 until the year she died — fifty-five years of weather, births, debts, and recipes recorded in the same steady hand. Her ledger is the source of nearly every date in the upper branches of this tree.
