Biography
Crossed from Liverpool aboard the SS Lake Manitoba in 1903 at twenty-two, with three trunks and no return ticket. Carpenter, then cabinetmaker, then briefly the proprietor of a hardware store. Wrote one letter home in 1903 and none thereafter.
